Challenge
Can we get there? Difficulty 7 Survival all around. Casts - Success Terfir - Success -2 health Leanne - Success Kihra - Success
It's not too difficult, we manage to make it there - and the city itself is large, though not as large as Daggerfall.
Both Terfir Lif and Casts-No-Shadow feel pretty uncomfortable in the city, and Casts cannot use his Shadow birthsign in the city. Nocturnal and Namira's influence seems to be blocked here.
We went up to the castle of the Knights of the Dragon and try to get an audience with Sandfri.
Skill Use
Leanne uses Speechcraft to get us to talk to Sandfri
We learn that he's going to return tomorrow morning and we plan on meeting him then.
Terfir and Casts basically march directly out of town back to the traveler's inn that we passed on the way in. It's a little run-down, but at least it's not feeling like we're going to pass out from holy bullshit.
The Inn's name is the Elaborate Robes. There aren't a lot of patrons here. They've only got one room, with two beds.
Terfir Lif has some fun dreams that night, and she tries to understand what they're saying. Turns out she was dreaming of the underking and Leanne's parents were definitely not trying to summon him.
The next day, we do meet up with Sandfri (after some disturbing blessings) who seems confused that he accidentally delivered the message to the wrong person. He gives us a letter, along with something sealed inside of it - He was specifically instructed to not look at it and thinks that it contained very important information.
Basically what happened was that the letter was addressed to "The Queen", but by the time it arrived, Dowager Queen Mynisera was no longer the Queen of Daggerfall.
Once we get back, we're met by a loinclothed messenger, who gives Terfir a slightly smelly letter which reads:
Dear Terfir, My eyes and ears abroad say that you are interested in the fate of a certain letter. Any emperor should not be so careless, nor should a queen. You really should come visit me in Castle Wayrest. I have some most interesting tidbits that I am sure you would enjoy hearing. -- Helseth Prince of Wayrest
We meet Mynisera in the middle of the night, out on the streets, deliver the letter to her and generally give her another update. We give her an update on Wayrest.
She gives us a pouch with some loot in it for our trouble as well as the guard rotations for the castle so that Kihra can break into the place unmolested. Which she heads into.
Challenge
Kihra goes on an extended stealthahon. Sneak into the building! (Success) Get past the locked door in the study! (Success) Search the place via Perception (Success) - She also steals some gold, but finds a lot of nice letters.
Skill Use
Casts Checks out what Mynesera is doing.
After Kihra and Casts successfully make it out, we get back to the tavern and split the loot. +5 Gold each. We decided that we needed to head to Wayrest, and we're going to stop in to see Leanne's parents on the way (by taking a boat instead of a carriage).
On our way to see Leanne's parents, we run into a bit of a sticky situation. As we're investigating, a Hag Raven pops out and attacks!
Fight
A Hagraven hops out of the shadows for a fight! She uses Light Armor to deflect the....something. She successfully does so. Terfir uses Drain against the hag raven. Casts-no-Shadows runs up and stabs it with a dagger. Success! -5 Stamina. It dies.
We head to the cottage, and when Leanne goes to knock on the door, it's already partway ajar. This does not bode well. Leanne enters the building, and can hear some chanting coming from inside the building. She hears no more than 2 voices.
She heads to their bedroom and sees Lielle standing over Ancus, the former chanting a spell of some sort, while the latter is unconscious on the bed. Turns out that Lienne is casting Restoration magic to try and heal Ancus, who was attacked by a Spriggan.
Buuuut, they're not connected to the entity of the Underking, or its stories and tales.
Lienne gives Leanne a bit of a lecture on to keep an eye on her companions.
We pretty much do just that, we go back to Daggerfall, supply, and then catch a boat to Wayrest.
We change into fancier clothes, and then head to Wayrest Castle to meet with the King and/or Queen.
Challenge
Get past the guard! Terfir tries to convince them to let us pass. Success! Kihra wants to steal some stuff. Success! -1 Thieves tool
We successfully make it in, and get ready to head to the next set of quests.
